Don’t let the alternate title, “Monistat and Menstruation,” scare you off—we’re saving those bits (wink) for when we set a Patreon reward involving the Ef’pod. No, this episode is once again about the World Cup, and where there’s a World Cup under Fox’s preview, there’s going to be muttering about Alexi Lalas.
Yet it’s not the commentator that gives us a headache in this particular episode. Turns out it may not have been the best idea for Kirsten, Megan, and Jessie to record this fifteenth episode the Unusual Ef’pod right after the England-Cameroon match, but we did manage to keep the volume of our ranting to a low roar and the content to a “safe for work” label as we discuss stereotypes, race and gender in broadcasting, and what it really takes for female athletes to be all the things people expect of them (hint: it’s damn near impossible). We also take the amazing answers to our twitter questions and actually manage to end on a hopeful note!
